Thanks to our friends at Medialets, we have some numbers to share with you guys. The first 24 hours are in the books and we, just like you, want to know how well apps from the Android Market did. Here are a couple of observations that were sent our way:
- Each application was downloaded an average of 7,800 times.
- Nine applications were in the 10,000 - 50,000 download range.
- Android users are almost exactly like iPhone users. Same goes with developers.
These are our ways of wording the observations put together by Medialets, so we’ve created a PDF to share with you guys. Click here to read the full, detailed results!
Some might call it premature to read much into the first day results. Factors such as product selection, genre, and price come in to play. Obviously all of these figures come from free apps so numbers might be skewed. Another way to look at it is to see how well they each did on a level playing field. In a few months we’ll see the paid apps in the Android Market so we’re curious to see what happens when people are dropping the 99¢ apps in there as well as the $15.00+ programs.
