167 Apps Accounting for Upwards of 3 Million Downloads so Far

Our friends at Medialets are at it again. What with their fancy charts, graphs, and whatnots. It looks like after a solid week of downloads and reviews, there are some telling numbers.

Pac-Man and The Weather Channel are the most downloaded apps, each grabbing somewhere between 50,000 – 250,000 installs. These two, along with another 39 apps are responsible for roughly 73% – 83% of all downloads.

Some other statistics worth noting:

Tools, Games, Lifestyle, Multimedia, and Productivity account for 61% of all titles
The overall number of applications has almost tripled since day one of Android Market
Most applications have been downloaded somewhere in the vicinity of 10,000 – 50,000 times each.
