According to CEO Dan Hesse, the top priority for Sprint right now is to reinvigorate the Nextel network which has plagued the company since dropping $38M on it a few years back. There have been rumors over the last few weeks that Sprint is entertaining the notion of selling that part of the network off.
Hesse was speaking yesterday at a conference that was held by Goldman Sachs when he also spoke about paying down debt. If they could sell Nextel off to someone else they’d be in a much more enviable position. Good luck though. We’re not aware of any companies looking to pick up iDEN customers.
