The complaints about the package size of the original FlyScreen release on the Market were heard by their development team. However, FlyScreenScreen is now re-entering the Android Market with a new file size. Here’s what their development team had to say:
So we’ll start with an apology- we had copy-protection enabled, and didn’t realize the problems it would cause. First of all, it ballooned our 2.8MB app to a 7MB monster, and secondly, apparently causes force closures that are out of our control. For some reason, Google doesn’t allow publishers to simply turn it off. Instead, they make publishers un-publish the app (losing its rating and download numbers), and re-publish a new one.
So we decided to bite the bullet now, before numbers got too high. We are very sorry to all who have downloaded, and appreciate your patience in helping us fix this (and re-installing the new version). Existing users will get a widget notifying them of the change, with a link to the new FlyScreen in the Market. **NOTE: You WILL still need to uninstall v1.1.1, and just run v1.1.2. Again, we’re sorry, but better now than later.
Excellent news for the FlyScreenation! Now we can all enjoy FlyScreen with less bloating from the copy-protection, while also saving space for other apps we want to enjoy. Remember to uninstall the old version before attempting to install the new one.
Here is an updated QR code for you to scan, sorry about the confusion from my first post concerning this release:
