LG has announced that their Android-based “Eve” (GW620) handset will be available through an exclusive deal with Rogers Wireless. Touted as a smart phone “designed specifically for social networking” it’s available for $49.99 with a 3-year voice/data agreement. The LG Eve features an app called Social Network Services (SNS) Manager, which ties together a user’sFacebook, twitter, and Bebo account and puts the information in the same place as other (SMS, MMS) messages.
The LG Eve is the smartphone that social networking fans have been waiting for, and we’re so happy to bring it to Canadians before any other market. Whether it’s managing your Facebook page or downloading one of the thousands of applications, the LG Eve lets you connect to your world, your way. – Colin Bettam, VP marketing, LG Electronics Canada
Other specs found in the Eve are a 3-inch touchscreen, 5 mega-pixel camera with auto-focus and LED Flash, a 5 line QWERTY keypad, Bluetooth 2.0 and WiFi. For more coverage on the Eve handset, click here.
