What would our precious mobile ecosystem be like without some blindly vibrant fanboism? Supporting your favorite brand as if they’re your hometown team and your favorite device as if it’s your personal favorite superstar- what could make you stop rooting for it/them? Nothing.
WARNING: THIS IS NOT SAFE FOR WORK!
Let’s be honest: it’s no secret we’re Android fans. But there is a fine line where at some point you completely cross over to fanboy. I’m not sure where that line is… but this cartoon conversation drives home the hilarious reality of the shamelessly ignorant fanboy’s existence.
I spoke briefly with John from DroidDog about the cartoon and we (mostly) agreed:
All kidding aside, I’m loving the iPhone 4 just as much as I’ve loved any Android. Well, almost. And while poking fun at “the other side” is always good for a laugh, sometimes poking fun at blind allegiance and fanboyism is much, much more hilarious (as seen in the video below). I wonder how popular this one would be if the roles were reversed, eh? (Oh, bad John, bad!)
I haven’t toyed with the iPhone 4 so I can’t comment. I don’t think I would enjoy it quite as much as John did, but I can undoubtedly give the iPhone credit for being an amazing device and operating system.
But come on… this video is hilarious and contains some greatly exaggerated truths about Apple allegiance. Sure, those exaggerated truths can be found among the Android faithful as well… but shhhhhhh… you’re ruining the party!
