The official Sony Ericsson Product Blog is reporting that the summer update for the xperia X10 is expected to begin rolling out over the “coming weeks”. Focusing on improving the overall performance and speed of the handset, the update has already started for select markets. Sony Ericsson is bundling in a free back-up and restore app in addition to messaging and camera UI tweaks. Look for a message in your notification bar to indicate when the update is ready for download. As a bonus, some markets will also receive “PlayNow” (premium games, apps) as part of the update.
