Earlier this month it was made aware that the HTC Desire HD and Desire Z would launch in India. The Desire HD has been released since then, but we have yet to see the Z hit Indian shelves. However, it looks like eager buyers will be able to get their hands on the Z starting next week.
Flipkart, an online retailer for India, has now opened up pre-orders for the Desire Z starting at 25,799 INR ($575) with an initial ship date of January 3rd.
For those unaware the Z will sport a 3.7-inch WVGA display, 5MP autofocus camera, 800MHz Qualcomm processor, and a slideout keyboard. It will ship with Android 2.2, but it’s expected to be upgraded to 2.3 in the future.
